The Kingdom Trail Network is currently closed

That’s right folks, summer is definitely on the way! This means that right now, while we transition through early spring which we affectionately refer to as “mud season” around here, that the ground is wet and mushy…  Yeah, those are not the technical terms, but we do think that they communicate the state of the trails at this point.

In order to best protect the Kingdom Trail network landowners’ natural resources, the trail network is closed for the winter season.  This will help to prevent any negative affects that may occur from trail use during this sensitive period of time with little to snow coverage and soft ground conditions.

Please respect trail closures and help us to preserve the trail surface so that we can open the network back up again for the summer season in stellar condition!

The big question at this time is always… when will the trails open for the summer season?  The answer is, as soon as possible!  We will need to wait for the freeze/thaw cycle to pass and the ground to dry.  This doesn’t take long on Darling Hill!  But it is all up to Mother Nature, and you know her, she is so unpredictable!

Our promise to you is that we will open the Kingdom Trail network up again as soon as we can.  Because honestly, we miss you and look forward to seeing you again.

In the meantime, you can order a Year round Membership, day pass or apparel on our online store here or stop in at the Kingdom Trail Welcome Center in the village of East Burke during business hours of Monday through Friday 8AM-4PM during the month of April.

And now is a great time to book your lodging for your spring trip.  You’ll find the most comprehensive list of lodging options and area information right here on Kingdom Trails website.

Check out the Trailhub app on the right side of the home page for up to the minute openings, closures and conditions.
